Why is firefox 2 faster then internet explore 7?

I just switched from internet explore 7 to fire fox 2 today. I found that firefox 2 is soo much faster then internet explore! But why is it faster?

1. Not as many add ons. I dont prefer Modzilla, I'll stick with my regualr Explorer =]
2. its smaller, and not as many options, but if ie is tuned right, and you keep programs to a mim. its not that much faster. and that pretty much the reason i dont use it. and there still are some web sites firefox has a problem with.
3. IE, like Windows comes bundled with many items enabled that you will never use. They are trying to make everyone happy, basically. Firefox, does not, and as a result will run much faster. Because of what I stated above, IE is much more vulnerable to infections like malware/spyware, viruses, and worms that Firefox is not. IE7 is way better than IE6 though. That is not to say that Firefox is invulnerable, as it is, just like any browser. I like Firefox personally, and have used it for years. However, it does have some limitations, as some web sites will not open using it and you still need IE in order to get you monthly security and software updates from Microsoft. All in all, i think Firefox is a superior browser to IE.
