why would firefox 2 stop working for no reason?

I have windows vista and the latest version of firefox. Sometimes Firefox will close for no apparent reason. Then I open firefox again and it asks me whether i want to 'restore session'. Still annoying though. I have 2 GB of RAM. I hear that vista eats up about 1GB, but that still leaves a good 1GB.

1. Firefox tends to crash after using too much memory. Make sure your system has enough memory to run Firefox and anything else.
