How do I stop Firefox 2 from scanning my downloads?
It takes a lot of time and I don't need it because I have my own anti-virus. Its Firefox 3. Sorry.

- I do not know what you mean I have run all versions of firefox from 1 to 3 and never had them scan my downloads i think you are mixed up somewhere
- I think you may be referring to the Download Manager. It doesn't scan the downloads; it just filters them so that if, for some reason the download is stopped, then you can re-start it at a later time from the point where it stopped. Say for example, you are downloading a fairly large file, and, in the middle of the download, you get a power blackout, or you loose your internet connection. When you get back on line, instead of having to re-start the download from the beginning, the Manager will simply continue it from where you left off.
- You can't.Basically, if you have an Antivirus at home that firefox supports, then it'll run a virus scan with the antivirus before opening the file. It is for your own safety !!!!
