Open Source Web Browser

I am currently using both Safari and Firefox web browsers. How will I find it useful to use multiple browsers?

I'm new to the web and want to learn how to use the tools I have most efficiently. I understand personal preference plays a part, but I'm trying to wrap my mind around the benefits of multiple as apposed to a single browser...

1. I can't see any benefit to using multiple browsers unless you are testing the web pages you made. Otherwise, drop Safari, and use Firefox only.
2. In my opinion, running multiple browsers only uses up processing power. Running a single browser (Firefox is my preference) with multiple tabs is the best way to go.
3. Useful if used properly. Some web servers aren't compatible with firefox while it could be with Safari. Having multiple browsers help with suitability issues.
