  1. one way, if you havent tried it, is to click "start", in the lower left corner, and click it from there,
  2. Start > Run > iexplore.exe iexplore.exe is Internet Explorers 'real name'. Running that will open IE. Hope it helps.
  3. The way to fix it is to fix the icon. It's obviously pointing to Internet Properties, not the actual program. Doesn't matter if it's in the task bar , start menu, or desktop - a shortcut is a "pointer" to the real program. Right-click on the icon, select "Properties." Select the Shortcut tab Click the button that says "find target" Browse to C Drive -> Program Files -> Internet Explorer, select iexplore.exe (or just iexplore if you have extensions invisible.) Click OK, repeat for any other errant shortcuts. If the problem persists, you may have something else wrong, possibly a virus redirecting the shortcut.
  4. This happens if the Start Menu default browser is not set. To set the Start Menu default Internet browser, try this: Right-click Taskbar, Properties, click Start Menu tab Click Start Menu radio button, and choose Customize In the Show on Start Menu section, select a browser Click OK and close the dialog j
