Open Source Web Browser

what program can open web pages, other than browsers?

i know regular web browsers can access the internet and download and use web pages. but other programs like microsoft word, can open web pages, and this bypasses many blocks. im wondering if theres any other programs, that may be better but are not a web browser. as some people may guess, im off to school, where the internet has many blocks, if anyone has a better idea on how to bypass blocks, they would be greatly appreciated.

1. Yeah, every year, same stuff, how do i get to myspace while at school, or how to get to facebook, Use you own computer at school and you have no problems. if using school computers, you are not allowed. But, most peeps do not care and they use this thing called proxy site.
2. If your school is anything like mine it will stop sites from being viewed in the network at all, let alone the software. But, besides browsers, you can open it in a "page reader". AOL has one. You will find it very different. Cell phones can have their own internet access.
3. Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) has a built in browser.
4. Answer : Proxy's Well, here's a proxy that I used when I went to China... I guess if it works through the Great Firewall, it may work for school http://www.sneakme.net/ But more important, you should be studying in school. :]
