What is the best internet browser for a dial-up connection?

I just recently got a new Dell Inspiron laptop with Windows 7. It also came with a Internet Explorer as my internet browser. But I have heard that Firefox is a much better browser. I would like my computer to as fast as it can with this slow dial-up connection. I just want my computer to have the best. (explain your reasoning please)

1. Get DSL or cable. I'd write a longer answer explaining why but on a dialup modem you'd just be struggling to load this answer. Get mifi in worst case scenario
2. Your connection has nothing to do with what browser you use, and vice-versa. I use Firefox because it's faster (due to smaller file size) and blocks pop-ups (more so with AdBlock Plus). Just don't add a bunch of crap to it, like Yahoo Tool bar.
3. I've used both and I find Firefox much better than IE. I've been using Firefox for 3 years. From my own experience, Firefox does take more memory than IE, but it's safer and it never crashed. IE can be a virus carrier. Firefox is not. Firefox doesn't secretly save all your browsing data including your passwords in a file called index.dat file which you can't delete. Firefox's 'Clear Private Data' option is straight forward. Plus you get lots and lots of themes and extensions with Firefox. Check them out here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
